It took T-Mobile some time before they officially acknowledged the Samsung Galaxy Note and then some additional time to actually offer up a release date and price. If you remember, those details arrived yesterday. That aside though, it looks like T-Mobile is going to be taking things a bit faster in terms of software updates. Despite the Galaxy Note only being in the hands of a select few at the moment and the general public not getting access to August 8th — there is already a software update detailed and ready to go.

The update, which has been listed on the T-Mobile support pages notes that this will arrive as Android 4.0.3 and software version T879UVLG3. And for those wondering, this will be delivered OTA (over-the-air). The update process is said to begin on August 8th and run through September 30th. Simply put, your OTA notification may take some time to arrive.

Otherwise, according to the support pages, the update will measure in at 21.8MB in size and bring the following improvements;

  • Error: ‘Enter MAC address’ after entering MAC address
  • Weather widget does not show current location
  • MobileLife contacts addresses combined into a single field
