While we have yet to hear any reports from the users as having received this, it appears as if Verizon Wireless is ready to begin rolling out an update for the HTC Trophy. According to what has been posted, this update will arrive as ROM: 2305.13.30202.605 and bring your handset up to Windows Phone 7.5 MCR3. Perhaps more important — the changes and new features that will come along. The changelog breaks down as follows;

Device Features

  • The device is now Wi-Fi Hotspot capable. This function can be turned on with the “Internet Sharing” feature under Settings. With this feature, you will have the ability to share your mobile data connection with up to 5 WiFi enabled devices. Data charges will apply.
  • Enhanced multimedia messaging capabilities: Multi-picture attachments, Video attachments, Send/receive ringtones

Otherwise, according to a leaked screen capture posted by the folks over at AndroidGuys, the HTC Trophy update to Apollo has been “approved” and should begin rolling out as early as today — August 1st.
