US Cellular has announced two new additions to their smartphone lineup, the Electrify 2 and the Defy XT, both from Motorola. The Electrify 2 will be available beginning today. Well, more specifically, it will be available online today and in-stores tomorrow, August 2nd. The Defy XT will be available in-store and online beginning on August 3rd.

The Electrify 2 is running Android 4.0 ICS and has features to include a 4.3-inch ColorBoost display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. This handset also features the SMARTACTIONS app from Motorola which helps to automate routines and tasks and is said to be able to help extend your battery life by turning features (such as GPS) off when the battery drops to a certain percentage.

The Defy XT is a rugged designed handset and also running Android. The feature set of this handset includes a 3.7-inch display and 5 megapixel rear-facing camera. Of course, the main draw here is the ruggedness, which means that it has a scratch-resistant display and is both water-resistant and dustproof.

Anyway, while US Cellular has made the official announcement and offered up some release dates — they have yet to reveal the pricing. But on that note, with an online release coming later today and in-store availability beginning tomorrow — the prices should be up fairly soon. That being the case, follow the via link below to visit the US Cellular website.

[Update] It looks like the pricing has been added since the original announcement. The Electrify 2 will set you back $199.99 and the Defy XT will set you back $99.99. Both of those prices come after a $100 mail-in rebate and along with a two-year agreement.
