The Gmail app for Android has recently been updated and along with a new version number comes some improved support and performance. The update is broken down by devices, specifically for those running Android 4.0 (or later) and those running Android 2.2 (or later). Perhaps the most welcomed here will be for the ICS and later group — notable the Nexus 7 crown running Jelly Bean — Google has improved the support for 7-inch devices with this update. Also included for this group were some bug fixes and performance improvements. Next up, the Froyo or later bunch, this one saw some performance improvements. That being said, if you are rocking a 7-inch tablet with ICS or Jelly Bean — you will likely want to fire up the Play Store and grab this latest release.
