Did you buy the Archos ChildPad for your kids? If you did, well, sorry to say this but luck is not on your side since Archos just updated the display. The ChildPad now has a capacitive touchscreen display instead of the previous resistive. The upgrade was made just two months after the ChildPad was released. So if you haven’t purchased this tablet yet and are keen on getting one, you will now have to pay $140 instead of its original $130 price. Yes, folks, it costs that much to have the capacitive screen on the tablet. Makes you wonder whether the change from resistive to capacitive is really worth that much. At any rate, the rest of the specs of the Archos ChildPad remain the same. You’ll still get a 7-inch Android tablet with ICS, 1GHz ARM processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of expandable storage. And there’s also some preloaded content featuring those cutesy chipmunks.
