Lenovo has officially unveiled the latest in their ThinkPad lineup. The latest is an ultrabook and arrives as the ThinkPad X1 Carbon. The X1 Carbon is a 14-inch notebook and will be available beginning on August 21st. As far as the pricing goes, Lenovo has the ThinkPad X1 Carbon priced from $1,399, however as we have seen in the past — that price will vary depending on the configuration you choose. As to what you will get for the base price — a 1.7GHz Core i5-3317U processor, integrated Intel HD graphics, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD.

Of the upgrades, you can step up to a $1,499 price point and add in a 1.8GHz Core i5 processor, go up to $1,649 and get that previously mentioned 1.8GHz processor along with 256GB of SSD storage or go all the way up to $1,849 and get a 2GHz Core i7 processor with a 256GB SSD.

Otherwise, as the carbon in the name would imply, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is just that — an ultrabook with a carbon fiber casing. A few of the other perks include a display resolution of 1600 x 900, a thickness of 0.71 inches and a weight of just 3 pounds.
