Though they are far from the first bank to offer this feature, Bank of America is now allowing their customers to deposit checks using the iPhone and/or iPad. The iOS apps, of which there is one for the iPhone and one for the iPad have both recently been updated with the check deposit feature. The iPhone version is now up to 4.0.392 and the iPad version is now up to 4.0.032. Aside from worrying about the version number though, just fire up the App Store on your device and it will prompt you to update if you haven’t already. Otherwise, aside from the iPhone and iPad apps having different version numbers — they have both received the same update. According to details coming from the iOS App Store, the Bank Of America apps now have the following;

  • Make check deposits
  • Choose the BankAmeriDeals you want, and earn cash back
  • Receive Bank of America Alerts as push notifications
  • Securely send money to others, using their mobile number or email address

Bottom line, if you are an iOS user and are a customer of Bank of America — grabbing this update means you will be able to skip that trip to a local branch when you have a check to deposit.
