Acer Cloud Mobile smartphone now available for pre-order with Expansys

Acer announced the CloudMobile smartphone earlier in the year, and well, it looks like a SIM-free version of the handset has recently come available for pre-order. The listing is with online retailer Expansys who have the handset priced at £284.99. Perhaps more important though, Expansys is expecting to begin shipping the CloudMobile on September 5th. And taking that a step further, those who pre-order will get a chance to back out when the time comes. You know, just in case you change your mind in the meantime. Expansys writes that;

“If you place a pre-order for this product now, we will not ship the product or charge your credit card without confirming you still wish to proceed when stock arrives. There are no cancellation charges.”

Otherwise, given it has been a little while since we last heard anything in terms of the Acer CloudMobile — a spec recap is certainly in order. The handset will arrive running Android 4.0 ICS and with the following in terms of hardware;

• 4.3-inch (1280 x 800) capacitive touchscreen
• Dual-core 1.5GHz processor
• 1GB of RAM
• 16GB of internal storage
• microSD card slot
• NFC, DLNA, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headphone jack
• Front-facing camera
• 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus and LED flash
