Netflix implemented a new feature over the past few days called post-play. We encountered post-play recently while watching Netflix through the desktop site. Today, Netflix has formally introduced the feature in a blog post. Here’s how it works. Whenever you’re watching an episode in a TV series, you’ll see a brief synopsis of the upcoming episode as the credits are rolling. By default, you’ll have 15 seconds before the next episode automatically starts playing. You’ll also see a cool little background image of the show in question while you wait.
Post-play also works for movies. Netflix will give you a few recommendations once a movie ends to keep you streaming.
So far, you can only experience post-play on the PS3 and desktop versions of Netflix. It’ll come to other platforms soon.
