Those carrying a T-Mobile branded Galaxy S III — you have a software update ready and waiting. The update, which is nothing more than a maintenance update, is currently available by way of Samsung Kies and will also be rolling out over-the-air. Your Galaxy S III will remain at Android 4.0.4 after the update, however the software version will go to T999UVLH2. In terms of what has been taken care of — that is a short list which reads as follows;

  • Resolved the error, ‘Enter MAC address’ after entering the correct MAC address in the Mobile HotSpot configuration page if the MAC address entered did not contain the colons (:) or spaces.
  • Resolved issue where the contents of a Home screen folder would be rearranged alphabetically after a reboot.
  • Resolved issue where the name does not populate when trying to add a contact with NameID information, you must manually add.

Otherwise, while not mentioned in the changelog, the folks over at TmoNews believe this update is removing the universal search option. Those looking to get the update over-the-air can sit back and wait for an update notification to arrive (the route we suggest) or navigate to Home -> Menu -> Settings -> About device -> Software update to get the process started manually. Lastly, those choosing to update through Kies, follow the T-Mobile link below for a set of step by step directions.
