A recent leak is showing a device that appears to be the next Samsung Galaxy Player. The device is sporting the model number of YP-GP1 and bearing a look similar to that of the Galaxy S IIII smartphone. Of course, the Galaxy Player will not have anything in terms of cellular connectivity. The folks over at SamMobile are expecting Samsung to offer an official announcement during IFA 2012, however until then — we have these leaked specs and one image. Other details note that this Galaxy Player will be running Android 4.0.4 ICS along with Samsung’s TouchWiz + Motion user interface. The Galaxy player should be available in black and white and with a 5.8-inch qHD (540 x 960) display, dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, microSD card slot, 2500 mAh battery and front and rear-facing cameras. That said, time will tell just how accurate this ends up being. But we are curious — anyone interested in a stand-alone media player at this point?
