There was a time when having unlimited data was common. All the major carriers offered a plan with this feature. As video and music streaming became more popular, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile axed unlimited data in favor of tiered data at different prices. Now it appears T-Mobile is getting ready to bring unlimited data back.Tmo News obtained some copy that is promoting an upcoming “Unlimited Nationwide 4G Data” plan. This plan will supposedly go into effect on September 5, 2012. Customers on a Classic Plan will be charged $30 a month for unlimited 4G data, and Value Plan customers will have to add another $20 to their bill. Tethering is still considered a 5GB or 10GB affair. T-Mobile says its new unlimited data plan has no “speed limits, caps or overages.”

I must say, this is not a bad deal for $10 more a month. This is the kind of thing that has the potential to get T-Mobile back into the game.
