The answer to the question posed in the title is yes. Well, the answer is yes according to a recent Bloomberg report. In fact, according to what we have read — it looks like Verizon Wireless will be launching a Windows Phone 8 device this year. Speaking personally, I hope this to be true, but with the not so warm welcome that Windows Phone 7 received from Verizon — this is one of those times when I will believe it when I see it happen. After all, as was pointed out, this will mark the first Windows Phone device released by Verizon since May of 2011.
Anyway, past history aside, Nokia and Microsoft are having an event in New York on September 5th and while the event will not directly include Verizon — we are expected to learn of a Verizon capable Windows Phone 8 device. Bottom line here, this is not the first time we are hearing of a Windows Phone device coming to Verizon, but at the same time, this does add a bit more credibility to the previous rumors. If nothing else, we will be paying close attention come September 5th. Of course, this could add a bit of conflict with the Motorola event which is also scheduled for September 5th and expected to unveil the Droid RAZR HD.
