Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S III in several countries are about to get a taste of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which as of this moment is officially available only on the Google Nexus 7. The firmware update for the Galaxy S III will happen after Samsung holds its Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin. This was reported by Android Central citing sources familiar with Samsung’s plan. According to the site, Samsung is already on the final testing stage and it is expected to be ready by August 29. Once rolled, owners of a Galaxy S III will enjoy the new features of Jelly Bean including redesigned notifications and Google Now. And with TouchWiz UI also running, the Galaxy S III will also have the “dormant mode” and “easy mode” home screen features. As for you our dear readers in the US and Canada who own the LTE-capable Samsung Galaxy S III, sorry to say this but it’s still unknown when Jelly Bean will be released for you.
