Boingo updates its Wi-Finder iOS app, helps you save money on data costs

Boing Wireless today has updated its iOS app called Wi-Finder. For those who are not aware, this app helps you in searching for Wi-Fi hotspots near you or around the globe. According to Boingo, the app has consistently provided great Wi-Fi experiences for those who have used it before. And to make the app even more useful, the update now includes a data tracker to help you in monitoring your data usage. The app does this by showing you how much data you have used on both 3G/4G and Wi-Fi. It automatically tracks cellular and Wi-Fi usage in megabytes and provides you with color-coded graph that delivers at-a-glance data usage stats in real time. The app also highlights projected monthly savings from using Wi-Fi instead of 3G/4G. Hence, simplifying the data management process for you. In addition to the data tracker, the updated Wi-Finder iOS app also now includes the Boingo Secure VPN and Wi-Fi Hotspot Finder. The Boingo Secure VPN is being offered as a free, one-click security solution for simplifying the task of keeping user data secure whenever your iOS device is connected to an open Wi-Fi network. The VPN secures all communications. The Wi-Fi Hotspot finder on the other hand will help you in tracking more than 500,000 commercial hotspots and crowd-sources free hotspots as well.
