We had known the app was coming, and well, Microsoft has officially released SkyDrive for Android. The app is currently available by way of Google Play. SkyDrive is available for free and has landed as version 1.0 and with support for Android devices running 2.3 or later. Those details aside, the SkyDrive app does what many would expect and/or hope for — it gives Android users access to their SkyDrive account. The features of the app break down as follows;

  • Access all of your SkyDrive content including files shared with you.
  • View recently used documents.
  • Choose multiple photos or videos to upload from your phone.
  • Share your files and photos – send a link in email or in another app.
  • Open your SkyDrive files in other Android apps.
  • Manage your files – delete, or create new folders.
