Originally expected to roll-out in the first half of the year, it looks like the ISIS mobile payment system will be available beginning next month. The details are coming by way of a recent Bloomberg report which states that the ISIS system will be available in September. Well, more specifically, that the service would be available before the end of summer — which just so happens to fall on September 21st. The service will only launch in select markets. And by select, we mean two — Salt Lake City, Utah and Austin, Texas. That small disappointment aside, the ISIS mobile payment system comes with the backing of Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile and of course, requires an NFC capable handset. Otherwise, similar to other mobile payment systems, ISIS is touting goodies such as remote wallet locking, PIN protection, personal privacy and “extra safeguards” which come as having “no visible account numbers and constantly changing security codes make it virtually impossible for anyone to counterfeit your card.”
