Sparrow for iPhone recently received what we deemed a Google-friendly update. And by that, the Sparrow iPhone app had been updated and now allows the user to open web links in Chrome. Anyway, the Gmail iOS app has recently been updated and can now do the same. Gmail for iOS version 1.3.1 has landed in the iOS App Store and brings two changes — some bug fixes and the “option to open web links in Chrome.” Of course, just like with Sparrow, you will need to have the Chrome browser installed for this to work. But really, that should go without saying. That said, those using Gmail for email and Chrome for browsing on an iOS device should fire up the App Store and grab this latest update.
