Way back in June, the YouTube published a post stating it was now possible for existing YouTube content creators to replace their YouTube name with their real Google+ name. Google wants to unify its services as much as possible, and a lot of people (including myself) were happy to change their somewhat unprofessional identities on YouTube. However, the rollout never reached me until today. I can only assume I’m not alone in this.
If you’re like me and had been waiting a very long time for Google to ask you to change your YouTube name, go ahead and try to comment or upload a video to YouTube right now. You may be prompted to make the switch. I have no idea what took Google so long to reach me (especially since I upload videos often), but I’m glad I wasn’t left behind. With a little luck, maybe you won’t be either.
