It has been a little while since the last Tweet Lanes update. Today’s update doesn’t bring the highly anticipated poll notifications, but it does make some control changes that may take some getting used to.

Replying to tweets is no longer done by tapping on the respective tweet. Instead, you have to long press tweets to display the @reply option. You can still select several tweets to reply to at once.

Tapping on a tweet will bring up a new feature called Tweet Spotlight. From here, you can view any discussion that spawned from that tweet, and you can view a list of users that retweeted that tweet. Tweet Spotlight removes the ability to look at conversations within the main timeline.

Other changes includes tweaks to adhere to Twitter’s mandatory app guidelines and bug fixes.

This beta update is only available as a direct download right now, but it should be available in Google Play soon enough.
