Canon unveils three new Powershot cameras, G15, S110 and SX50 HS

Canon today announced three new digital cameras under the Powershot series. These are the Canon Powershot G15, Canon Powershot S110 and Canon Powershot SX50 HS. Quickly, let’s look at what these new digital cameras have to offer. First up, we have the Powershot G15, the latest from Canon’s high-end point-and-shoot cameras , the G-series that can very well pass for a DSLR in photo quality and performance. The G15 boasts of a 12.1-megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS image sensor, 28mm wide-angle f/1.8-f/2.8 lens with 5x optical zoom, DIGIC 5 image processor, maximum ISO speed of 12800, and 1080p full HD video capture with a built-in stereo microphone. The Powershot G15 will set you back $499.99.

Next we have the Canon Powershot S110, a slim digital shooter with built-in Wi-Fi that lets you share your photos and videos instantly to various social networking sites through Canon’s iMage Gateway or to Wi-Fi enabled devices through Canon’s iOS or Android devices’ apps. The camera’s Wi-Fi connectivity also lets you use the camera as a wireless network and record GPS data that are acquired from your smartphone. This compact camera is also loaded with a 24mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom, f/2.0 aperture, Canon HS system, Digic 5 processor, 1/1.7-inch 12.1MP HS CMOS image sensor, maximum ISO speed of 12800, advanced AF system, and 1080p full HD video capture as well. The Canon Powershot S110 will be available for $449.99.

Finally, we have the Canon Powershot SX50 HS featuring a 50x optical zoom and 24mm wide-angle lens with optical image stabilization. It also features 1080p full HD video capabilities, Canon HS System, maximum ISO speed of 6400, 12.1MP CMOS image sensor, 2.8-inch vari-angle LCD screen and an electronic viewfinder. In addition, this camera is capable of capturing 12-bit RAW+JPEG images files enabling you to instantly back-up your photo files as well as giving you more room for image processing and modification. The Canon Powershot SX50 HS will retail for $479.99.

All three Canon Powershot cameras are scheduled for release sometime in October. So, you still have some time to decided which one you’re getting.
