Twitter today has simultaneously updated three of its mobile apps, all for different platforms. The Twitter iPad app was updated to version 5.0 with major updates while both the Twitter for iPhone and Android were given a couple of new features. According to Twitter, Twitter for iPad 5.0 was rebuilt from the ground up – making it faster, more beautiful and easy to use. The updated Twitter iPad app will bring you closer to what’s happening worldwide as well as make it easier to keep up with the news, photos and people you follow. At the app’s home screen, you can now see summaries of photos, videos and web page. Another tap will switch the app’s view in fullscreen mode. The app also now lets you keep conversations going by tracking interactions as well as see who has followed or mentioned you, retweeted or favorited your tweets. The Discover option of the app now gives you more useful and entertaining information which are all personalized based on your preference. You can now read popular news stories within your network as well as see which Tweets and accounts are favorited and followed by people you know. Finally, the new Twitter for iPad will also now let you express yourself by way of new header photo that you can use for your Twitter profile. This photo will appear consistently above your Tweets. And you can change this photo easily, anytime.
New to both iPhone and Android apps include new feature header photos for profiles which will allow you to upload an image from your mobile device and then see the same profile design no matter what you used to view your account – be it on a phone, tablet or computer. Additionally, the updated app also now lets you view photos in fullscreen mode instantly by just swiping left or right on the screen or tapping on photos.
