In an effort acquire and retain customers, HTC and The Wireless Source have started a program that will pay you for your old phone. HTC Trade Up accepts a wide variety of devices from many manufacturers. The only catch is that you have to purchase a new HTC phone.

Here’s how it works. You first have to go the HTC Trade Up site and look up the value of your current smartphone. If your phone isn’t badly damaged (broken screen, water damage, corrosion etc), HTC will give a quote for the value of the phone. You then have to purchase a new HTC phone and send your old phone a in the required paperwork that proves your ownership. From there, TWS will send you a prepaid card for the amount that was quoted within 60 days.
