Opera Mini may not be the most popular alternative to the stock Android browser but that should not prevent you from checking out this app since you might find it suitable to your liking. In fact, the Opera Mini Android app has just been updated to version 7.5 bringing in the Smart Page feature. According to Opera, Smart Page gives you instant access to social networking updates, world news and suggested lists which all give you a birds-eye view of what’s happening. In addition, Smart Page allows you to manage the information flow faster and easier all in the same browser platform. Smart page has three main categories namely – social tab, news and suggested links.

Here’s what each of these categories have to offer:

  • Social Tab – This is a one-stop shop for the latest updates, providing an overview of your social-network activity. Enter your Facebook, Twitter or vKontakte details to get the latest updates in one place, without having to visit several webpages.
  • News – Get the latest news from a wide variety of news sources, based on your browsing habits! Opera Mini 7.5 gathers the latest news headlines from news sites relevant to you, all in one place.
  • Suggested Links- Smart Page features a list of relevant links based on the region your Android phone is located. In the list, users get suggested links from Opera Software as well as partners of Opera.

Together with these Smart Page features, you’ll also still enjoy the classic stuff that the Opera Mini browser has to offer, particularly the way the browser compresses data when browsing which means faster surfing and cheaper data cost if you’re on a pay-per-megabyte data plan.

Opera Mini 7.5 is available now as a free download from Google Play. Simply follow the via link below to get the update or install the app on your Android device.
