The Lytro camera gained its popularity by containing technology that allows the photographer to change the focus on a subject long after the picture is taken. Come this October, the Lytro camera will be positioned to gain the attention of the general public with retail releases in several stores.
On October 9, the Lytro will be available at Best Buy, Target and Amazon in the United States. Future Shop locations in Canada will also begin selling the Lytro on that date. In November, CityTarget stores in the U.S. will start selling its supply.
The Lytro will also be released internationally in countries such as Australia (October 10), Hong Kong (mid-October) and Singapore (mid-October).
The Lytro is currently sold as two models. The 8GB model is $399 and the 16GB model is $499.
