It appears as if Archos is getting ready to unleash another Arnova branded ereader. The latest is the Arnova GBook eReader which will arrive running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and with specs to include a 7-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480. In addition, the GBook eReader will have 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor. It was said that users can expect up to 8 hours of battery life for for reading and up to 7 hours of battery life for video playback. Some of the other specs include a built-in microphone and speaker, a front-facing camera and mini-HDMI out. The reader will measure in at 7.7 x 4.6 x 0.45 inches and weigh in at 10.7 ounces. And while the tablet running Ice Cream Sandwich sounds like a perk, this one will arrive without access to Google Play. There will however be some pre-installed apps. Just to name a few, the reader will have the Aldiko eBook reader app and the Appslib app store. Finally, no word yet on pricing or a release date.
