Facebook now lets regular people promote their posts

Today, Facebook enabled everyday users with less than 5,000 friends (i.e. not celebrities or businesses) in the United States to promote their posts. Promoted posts will appear at the top of your friend’s news feeds. It’ll cost around $7 to promote a post, but that fee may be worth it considering what you want to promote.

Along with the ability to push posts where everyone can see it, promoted posts will also come with a feature that lets you see the percentage of Facebook users that saw your post.

If you don’t see the promotion option, you may have to wait until it’s enabled on your account.
