Toys R Us opens its first digital video store

On Thursday, Toys R Us opened the virtual doors to Toys R Us Movies. Toys R Us Movies is a new digital service that offers streaming rentals and full downloads of more than 4,000 movies and television shows. Families with children are the target audience for this service.

Toys R Us Movies provides rentals for 24 hours starting at $2.99. If you want to buy an episode of a television show, prices start at $0.99. You’ll find most of the shows to be priced at $1.99 an episode. Some of the TV selection includes Full House, The Flintstones, The Looney Tunes Show and Teen Titans. You’ll need a debit or credit card to rent or purchase anything, but Toys R Us will start selling movie gift cards this fall.

Currently, Toys R Us Movies can only be accessed by devices that support Flash. However, the service will be expanded to tablets, TVs and Blu-ray players in the future.
