You won’t need a television to enjoy video content from Roku anymore. Today, Roku and 3M revealed the 3M Streaming Projector. The Streaming Projector is small enough to fit in your hand, and can display 800×480 resolution videos on surfaces up to 120-inches wide. It’ll be sold for $299 from Amazon. Shipping will begin either this month or in November.

$299 may seem a little steep, but the 3M Streaming Projector also includes the Roku Streaming Stick. The Streaming Stick fits into the back of the Streaming Projector. Since the Streaming Stick has its own Wi-Fi capabilities, it can freely stream videos so long as it’s connected to the internet and powered by the Streaming Projector. The Streaming Projector is powered by a rechargable battery with an AC adapter. When not connected to an outlet, the Streaming Projector can last around 2.5 hours on its battery.

The Streaming Projector also has a HDMI port that can be used to connect devices other than the Roku Streaming Stick.

If you have the desire to project videos on large surfaces, this may be worth checking out.
