Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Music, though they were sort of light on the release and pricing details. In fact, we have yet to even see a rough time frame for a release. That bit aside though, Samsung did come forward with the specs. The Galaxy Music, as implied by the name, will be a music friendly device. The handset will have a dedicated music key which according to Samsung, “provides quick and convenient access to the music player for the perfect listening experience.” Some other music related goodies include dual front stereo speakers, Sound Alive and SRS as well as a built-in FM radio.
Otherwise, the Galaxy Music is an Android smartphone and running 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset will have hardware specs to include a 3.0-inch QVGA (240 x 320) touchscreen display, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 1300 mAh battery, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 3.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3 megapixel camera with fixed focus and no flash. The handset will arrive with network connectivity in the form of HSDPA / HSUPA (900/2100 MHZ) andEDGE / GPRS (850/900/1800/1900 MHZ). Lastly, the Galaxy Music will have the Touchwiz UI as well as Google services including full access to Google Play.
