Kickstarter will be officially open in the United Kingdom on October 31, 2012. On that day, creators in that country will be able to post and promote their projects just as U.S. residents do now. Kickstarter hopefuls in the UK can begin building their project pages as of October 10.

Kickstarter in the UK will be virtually identical to its U.S. counterpart. Projects based in the UK will be shown in the same capacity as every other Kickstarter project. In other words, there won’t be a new Kickstarter website dedicated to the UK. The only real differences is that currency for UK projects have to be listed in pounds sterling, and payment information will need to be entered on Kickstarter before it’s handed off to a trusted third-party.
