Since the release of Windows 8 is fast approaching, computer manufactures are probably busy right now prepping their latest machines that will be running Windows 8. Acer gets ahead of the pack by announcing two such computers, the Aspire V5 and Aspire M5 Ultrabook series. The Acer Aspire M5 series of Ultrabooks will be loaded with Intel Core i5 processors with Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 500GB HD plus 20GB SSD, USB 3.0 ports, backlit keyboards and an 8-hour battery life. There will be two models in this notebook series, one will have a 14-inch display while the other will have a 15.6-inch display. Aside from the screen size, the 14-inch Aspire M5 also differentiates itself from the 15.6-inch model with its 10-point multi-touch touchscreen and an aluminum alloy body. The 15.6-inch Aspire M5 on the other hand does not have the same touchscreen feature and its body is made from magnesium alloy.

The Acer Aspire V5 is a regular Acer machine which will be available in 4 models, V5-171 with an 11.6-inch screen, V5-P471p with a 14-inch screen, V5-P571 and V5-571P with a 15.6-inch screen. The difference between the P the last two being the one with the “P” on its name will have the 10-point multi-touchscreen feature. These notebooks will also run Windows 8 and will be packed with either Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.  Other features include Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, 500GB or 750GB HD, Intel HD Graphics 4000 and USB 3.0 ports.
