Insignia took to its Facebook page this week to promote its upcoming tablet called the Insignia Flex. This tablet features a 9.7-inch screen, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 10 hours of battery life and Android 4.0. This tablet will be exclusive to Best Buy when it’s released in mid-November.
Insignia didn’t offer a price, but it will need to be priced to directly compete with the Kindle Fire HD and the Nexus 7. Right from the start, the Insignia Flex already has some marks against it for not running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It also doesn’t help that Insignia left out crucial spec information such as screen resolution and storage capacity.
With the holiday season getting closer, Best Buy will be taking measures to ensure customers actually buy things instead of using its stores as showrooms. If the price is right, Best Buy’s house brand tablet could end up as gifts for many people.
