As was rumored, Apple has since confirmed the October 23rd press event. And while they have confirmed the date of the event, they have yet to offer all that much in terms of what we can expect to see. The expectation is the iPad mini, which sort of fits in with the text on the event invite. That text (which you can see in the image above) reads as follows;

“We’ve got a little more to show you.”

Upcoming event aside, we suspect some people were disappointed that this news did not come during the previous Apple event. This one however seems to take direct aim at Microsoft. Well, at the timing of the release of Windows 8 and the Surface with Windows RT tablets anyway. That all being said, we have seen and heard the iPad mini rumors and I guess we will soon see how accurate they will be. You know, whether or not they feature a Lightning Connector and Retina Display. Or, if the iPad mini is even going to be announced at all. In addition, we had also heard some rumors about Retina 13-inch MacBook Pro.

All the speculation aside, we are thankful that this was officially announced because it means that we can put another series of rumors and speculation to rest.
