Belkin introduces the WeMo Baby, a smartphone baby monitor

We have seen a few WeMo branded offerings from Belkin. Most notably, the WeMo Switch and the WeMo Switch + Motion which are currently available and selling for $49.99 and $99.99 respectively. And well, it looks like Belkin has announced the latest WeMo branded product — the WeMo Baby. As one would likely assume, the WeMo Baby is indeed a baby monitor. And similar to the Switch and Switch + Motion, the WeMo Baby is designed to work with your smartphone. More specifically, your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad that happens to be running iOS 5.0 or later.

Simply plug in WeMo Baby, download the free WeMo Baby app, and connect to your existing wireless network. Additionally, the WeMo Baby will also have a premium service available. The premium option will be powered by Evoz and give you features such as “advanced monitoring, cry notifications via text or email, cry history information, and analysis of baby’s crying and sleep patterns.” The premium option will set you back $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
