The Viper SmartStart alarm app was updated to version 3.0 back in early-June. And well, as of today it looks like v3.0.1 has officially landed in the iOS App Store. But before anyone writes this one off as a simple point release without even looking, this update does bring a few goodies.

For example, Viper SmartStart v3.0.1 includes support for Siri. More specifically, you can now use Siri to launch the app and auto-execute a remote start or lock/unlock command. The app now also has “general” support for iOS 6 as well as some big fixes (from v3.0) which included a set time error for the SmartSchedule and command send errors while using Bluetooth.

Otherwise, the remaining changes include the following;

  • Added ability for user to program their text message alerts, including turning them on/off
  • Added ability for user to program email alerts
  • Added support for Maps (restored function for SmartPark and GPS sections)

Bottom line, if you are a current Viper SmartStart user — this seems like an update you will probably want to grab.
