A new rumor has emerged claiming Huawei is creating a new smartphone that dwarfs the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. According to Chinese website MyDrivers, a teaser for a device that’s referred to as the Huawei Ascend Mate appeared on Huawei’s website. Sources for MyDrivers claim the Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch 1080p HD display.
It’s gets better. The phone is said to have a 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a massive 4,000mAh battery. It’ll run Android 4.1, but will have some Huawei customizations on top.
We want to stress that all this information is based on translations. If this phone turns out to be real, it will blur the line between phone and tablet like never before. Some would argue 6.1-inches is too large to a phone. Then again, that’s what we though about both Galaxy Notes. We’ll have to see how Huawei designed the hardware before knowing for sure if the company has gone too far with this one.
