AT&T originally announced the Samsung Galaxy Rugby pro back in September. The handset was announced alongside the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet and the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Express smartphones. At that time the release for all devices was left as simply sometime in the “coming months.” And well, it looks like the time for the Galaxy Rugby Pro has arrived.
The handset will be available beginning this Sunday, which is October 21st. The price will be $99.99 on a two-year agreement.
And just to recap the specs, the Galaxy Rugby Pro will have a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 4G LTE network connectivity and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. In addition, the handset, as implied by the name, will be a rugged device. More specifically, the Galaxy Rugby Pro will have the military specifications (810g specifications) which means it is waterproof, shock resistant and dust proof. Finally, those making the purchase can also expect a few other goodies such as full-device encryption, EAS corporate mail support and Enhanced Push-to-Talk.
