The newest Chromebook manufactured by Samsung is being sold directly from Google Play for $249. Google estimates the Chromebook will be delivered within 3-5 days. This is not the 3G version that offers 100MB of free data from Verizon, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that version is offered through Google Play in the future.

Just to recap, let’s go over some of the Chromebook’s features. Although it’s much more useful when connected to the internet (what computer isn’t?), the Chromebook is capable of offline document editing, offline email and offline app usage. It comes with a 16GB solid state drive, comes with 100GB of Google Drive Storage for two years, a 11.6-inch 1366×768 HD display and a Samsung Exynos 5 dual-core processor.

This is certainly a tempting device for someone who just needs a basic computer for simple tasks.
