Alright Apple, you did it – surprising me and the millions of iPad fans by taking the wraps off the 4th gen iPad. We were not expecting this new iPad. I personally was not expecting it since I just bought my 3rd gen iPad, you’re so called “new iPad.” Now, I’m in a dilemma on how I’m going to dispose this less than two months old iPad to get the 4th gen iPad. I thought you’re just going to unveil the iPad Mini which to be honest doesn’t really appeal to me. Alright, enough of blabbering. What does the new iPad has that makes it different from the 3rd gen iPad?
Well it still has the same 9.7-inch Retina display and other similar features as the 3rd gen iPad. But this new regular-sized iPad will now be sporting a new Apple-designed A6X chip which obviously will bring double the CPU performance of the “old” iPad and double the graphics performance as well. Battery life will be at 10 hours. Other new features include FaceTime HD camera, twice the Wi-Fi performance of the older iPad models, LTE support and support for lightning connector.
The new 4th generation iPad will be available on November 2 in black or white for $499 for the 16GB, $599 for the 32GB and $699 for the 64GB model. Pre-order starts on October 26 through the Apple Online Store in the US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
