Universal search app announced for Roku, will arrive over-the-air as Roku Search

Roku has announced a new universal search app. The app, simply dubbed Roku Search will be rolling out over-the-air over the next week. And for those who need to have the app now — you can fire up your Roku and navigate to Settings -> Software update -> Check now. The update will arrive as software version 4.8 352x.

That all being said, Roku Search is a universal search app that will allow you to search for movies, television shows, actors and directors and get results from Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, Crackle, VUDU and HBO GO. Finally, Roku Search will be available for the Roku 2, Roku LT, Roku HD and the Roku Streaming Stick.
