Acer announced the 7-inch Iconia Tab A110 tablet earlier in the month and well, if anyone had been waiting to make the purchase — the tablet is now available by way of Amazon. The retailer has the tablet priced as we would have expected, at $229.99. And perhaps more important for some regular Amazon shoppers, the Iconia Tab A110 is an Amazon Prime eligible item which means free 2-day shipping or $3.99 next day shipping (for Prime members).

Anyway, given the price point and the specs, we do have to say this one could go either way with the Nexus 7. The Iconia Tab A110 does have a few perks though. Those include a microSD card slot for additional storage and a microHDMI port. Otherwise, the remaining specs for the Iconia Tab A110 include a 7-inch (1024 x 600) display, quad-core 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera and up to 7.5 hours of battery life.

Finally, the Iconia Tab A110 is running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. And on that note, we may just prefer the vanilla Jelly Bean installation (not to mention the greater potential for upgrades) that we would find on the Nexus 7. Of course, that is not to say the Iconia Tab A110 would not make a great device.
