Accidentally revealed by its FCC document not so long ago, the 8-inch Android tablet which goes by the name, Cobalt 80 was just officially announced by Archos. The Cobalt 80 is the third tablet in the Elements range. Although not as small as say the iPad Mini or Nexus 7, the Archos Cobalt 80 has got some pretty good specs under the hood. These include a 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB on-board storage, 8-inch capacitive screen at 1024 x 768, microSD card slot, 2MP rear-facing camera and 0.3MP front-facing camera. Said tablet measures in at 12mm in thickness and weighs 470g. And yes, as mentioned it will be running on Android 4.0 ICS and not Jelly Bean. Given those specs and features, the Archos Cobalt 80 tablet seems like a pretty capable device and the only information missing now that could probably help you decide whether to get it or not is the price. Unfortunately, no word yet on the price or the release date. But knowing Archos, we are not expecting this tablet to have a premium price.
