Verizon makes it official; Windows Phone 8X and Lumia 822 available by Thanksgiving with pre-orders from November 9

We have some good news for those who may have been waiting for a Windows Phone 8 device to arrive with Verizon Wireless. Yup, the carrier has announced the release date and the pricing for the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the Nokia Lumia 822. And in a bit of better news, the wait for the release will not be all that long.

Verizon will have the handsets available for sale “by Thanksgiving” and pre-orders will begin tomorrow, November 9. The pricing and colors are as follows;

• HTC Windows Phone 8X: $199.99 on a two-year agreement and available in Blue, Red or Black (the red and black are exclusive colors for Verizon).
• Nokia Lumia 822: $$99.99 on a two-year agreement. The 822 will be available in Black, White and Grey. The $99.99 price comes after a $50 mail-in rebate.

Finally, in addition to the two Windows Phone 8 smartphones, Verizon Wireless also noted that the Samsung ATIV Odyssey will be available by the end of the year. The Odyssey will be a Verizon exclusive. And for those wondering, nothing specific in terms of a price or a release date for the Odyssey.

UPDATE: The Windows Phone 8X by HTC and the Nokia Lumia 822 will be available for pre-order starting tomorrow, November 9, at 1am ET.

Managing data use on a Windows Phone 8 from Verizon Wireless is just as simple and helps relieve the stress of data use. The Data Sense app, exclusive for a limited time, tells you how much data you have used in a given time period. It also allows you to set data limits and even reports how much data each app has used. Data Sense doesn’t stop there, as it has a suite of features like Wi-Fi mapping to find hotspots and compressing images and HTML while browsing the Web to help reduce data usage.

Work and play don’t need to be separated with Windows Phone 8. • Nokia Lumia 822 – Exclusive to Verizon Wireless and will be available by Thanksgiving in Black, White and Grey color models for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a new two year contract.
