Google Confirmed: Nexus S and Motorola Xoom will not be updated to Android 4.2

It looks like the Nexus S smartphone and the Motorola Xoom tablet have reached the end of the line in terms of software updates. Simply put, neither of these devices will see an update to Android 4.2 and will instead remain with Android 4.1. Or more specifically, with Android 4.1.2. That being said, the details come from a recent Google Groups posting from Google’s AOSP lead Jean-Baptiste Queru. In other words, no rumor here — Nexus S and Motorola Xoom users will not see Android 4.2. And while we suspect some will be upset to learn the news, the sad fact is that every device has to reach this point at sometime.
