We had known that T-Mobile was planning to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet, however when they originally made the announcement they offered nothing more than sometime in the coming weeks. And well, it looks like the coming weeks have arrived. Simply put, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet is now available with T-Mobile.
The carrier has the tablet priced at $399.99 which comes after a $50 mail-in rebate and along with a two-year agreement. And interestingly enough, that is just $50 more as compared to the (still available) Galaxy Tab 10.1.
That being said, those considering a purchase should know the specs. The tablet is 4G (HSPA+) capable and running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with a 10.1-inch display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and 7000 mAh battery. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 also has both a front- and rear-facing camera.
With that, while this is certainly a solid option to consider, we would be remiss if we didn’t suggest the Nexus 10, which is selling for a contract-free $399 (16GB model). Of course, the catch with the Nexus 10 — no built-in cellular connectivity.
