Voyager Mobile is a young MVNO that came into existence last May. Voyager customers are privy to unlimited voice, text and data plans for $39 a month on Sprint’s 3G and WiMax networks in the United States. Voyager does not support international roaming at this time, but the company has announced its intentions to offer its customers international service with no roaming charges. Voyager hopes to accomplish this by using technology it calls Project Global Voyager.

According to its press release, Voyager Mobile plans to support international voice, data and text on devices that have dual GSM and CDMA capabilities. Project Global Voyager relies on the cloud, so there’s no need for the company to install additional software on supported smartphones.

Details about Project Global Voyager are scarce, but the company expects to implement this technology in 2013.
