When I first learned about and seen the Vinci Tab MV, I thought it was another tablet that was aimed at children like the Tabeo. However, it turns out to be a hybrid device that could be useful to kids and adults. The Vinci Tab MV only has a 5-inch 480×800 display, but it also has 3G connectivity and two unlocked quad-band sim card slots. This thing is essentially a world phone for $249.
We can’t knock the Vinci Tab MV too much on the spec side since it’s not trying to compete with popular smartphones, but we’ll go over them anyway. It comes with 4GB of internal storage (SD card storage is unknown), 512MB of RAM, a 1GHz processor and a 3,000 mAH battery. It also comes with some pre-loaded Google apps such as Google Play, Gmail and YouTube. Judging by the image, I’d say the Vinci Tab MV is running some version of Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Vinci Tab MV is up for pre-orders now, and deliveries are expected to arrive on November 30.
