Huawei came a bit late at the Windows Phone 8 launch party, but the company’s Ascend W1 smartphone is still one we’re pretty excited about. Maybe not as excited as for HTC, Nokia and Samsung’s WP8 handhelds, but still pretty excited.

We saw the W1 for the first time in a leaked image about a month ago, rocking a splendid cyan body, and now it’s time to have a look-see at the phone again, in both blue and white.

While we still think that the snazzy blue exterior is much more attractive for Huawei’s first WP8 device, the white version is a looker too, being elegant in an old-fashioned kind of way. Since last month, we also heard a great deal about the phone’s specs, though nothing is confirmed just yet.

Unofficially, the phone is set to pack a 4-inch WVGA screen, a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, a 5 MP rear-facing camera, and a 2,000 mAh battery. The ETA is Q1 2013, while pricing remains the most difficult detail to predict.
