Buying a home can be a daunting experience. Instead of rent, you have to worry about a mortgage, utilities and furniture. Commodity items such as light bulbs are often the last concern for a home buyer. You simply replace them when they blow out. Philips has disrupted this boring space with the intriguing, yet costly Hue LED’s. Instead of simply hitting the light switch and going about your business, you can program the bulbs and change their colors. They can be controlled from your Android or iOS device.
It is hard to deny their cool factor. Mood lighting would add a nice touch to any home. They aren’t cheap though. At $200 for the introductory kit and $60 per bulb, many consumers will continue to opt for the standard light switch. I encourage you to read the review over at Ars Technica. They were impressed by the bulbs and felt that they are a worthy addition to any home or office able to justify the price of entry.
